Cantaloups were dipped for 30 sec in water at 130 deg or 135 deg F or in fungicide solutions at these temperatures. These had less stem-scar and surface mould than those treated similarly at 75 deg , and control was as effective with maneb at 360 or 719 p.p.m., SDMC at 2500 or 5000 p.p.m. or captan at 300 or 600 p.p.m.
