Immunity of sheep and dogs to experimental taeniid infections

Immunity of sheep and dogs to experimental taeniid infections

Materialy Nauchnykh Konferentsii Vsesoyuznogo Obshchestva Gel' mintologov, 1969-1970 (23): 219-225

Lambs aged 6 to 7 months were infected one or more times with Taenia hydatigena eggs and challenged with eggs of T. hydatigena or Echinococcus granulosus in an attempt to demonstrate acquired resistance to the larval stages of these tapeworms. Lambs given immunizing doses of T. hydatigena eggs were found to harbour significantly fewer larvae after a challenge than controls.
