Incidence and distribution of fusiform rust in slash pine plantations in Florida and Georgia

The incidence of Cronartium fusiforme in 59 Pinus elliottii var. elliottii half and full-sib progeny tests located in Florida, Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi, at three years ranged from 2.0 to 60.6% with an average of 21.5%, while at five years the figures were 2.4-69.7% and 30.5% respectively. The average increase in incidence for 19 tests was 14.9%.
