Three populations were studied: 6268 dam-daughter pairs in their 1st, 2nd and 3rd lactations of 270-305 days (milk protein data on 523 dams and 1686 daughters only); German Black Pieds (GBP), their F1 Jersey crossbreds and 1st backcrosses in various lactations (331-799 records/type); 5032 first-lactation records of GBP cattle at 129 farms, this data being stratified according to level of annual milk yield.
