Indirect haemagglutination test in the diagnosis of cysticercosis caused by Cysticercus tenuicollis infection in sheep and goats

Indirect haemagglutination test in the diagnosis of cysticercosis caused by Cysticercus tenuicollis infection in sheep and goats

Rivista di Parassitologia 35(2): 103-111

In India, the indirect haemagglutination test using chicken RBC and whole cyst antigen of Cysticercus tenuicollis, on 57 naturally infected goats showed titres of 1:16 to 1:1024 and 46 infected sheep titres of 1:16 to 1:256. Apparently normal sheep and goats showed titres up to 1:16. Newly born goats that suckled for 2/3 days from infected mothers had higher titres (1:32 to 1:64) than those that did not suckle (1:2 to 1:8).
