Investigations in budding seedlings of the rubber tree

Investigations in budding seedlings of the rubber tree

Plant Propagator 17(4): 16-20

The possibilities of strip budding were investigated using 2- to 8-month-old seedlings under nursery and field conditions in Sabah. Successes of between 65 and 95% were obtained from 100 000 seedlings. Seedlings with a basal diameter of 1/4 to 1 in were budded with dormant buds from non-leafy parts of green terminal growth flushes.
