Level and distribution of potassium in beef carcasses

Journal of Animal Science 35(3): 542-547

The carcasses were of cattle from 3 feeding trials. In 2 of the trials wintering phase rations, from liveweight 227 to 341 kg, were either all maize silage or 85% maize and 15% maize silage on a DM basis and finishing phase rations, from liveweight 341 to 454 kg, the same or 50% maize, 50% maize silage. In the third trial rations, from 227 to 454 kg liveweight, provided digestible protein 10.1, 22.1 or 27.6 g/Mcal digestible energy.
