Litomosoides carinii infection of Mastomys natalensis: serological studies with the complement fixation and the indirect haemagglutination test in the course of infection

Serum antibodies of Mastomys natalensis infected with Litomosoides carinii were examined by the indirect haemagglutination test (IHAT) or the complement fixation test (CFT) for a period of 260 days after infection using an aqueous extract of adult L. carinii. The earliest positive reaction could be observed 12 days after infection with the IHAT and 24 days after infection with the CFT.
