In field trials in 1966-8 at 10 200 ft alt., herbage yields on a range dominated by Polygonum bistortoides, Achillea lanulosa, Poa canbyi, Deschampsia caespitosa, Trisetum spicatum, Phleum alpinum and Stipa lettermanii were increased by applications of 30 or 60 lb N or P/ac, or N and P together, with the greatest increases in the 2nd year with N and P combined at the higher rate. Differences in 1968 were not significant.
