Man can carry extra 50 ft (15 m) of new hose to fight fire

Man can carry extra 50 ft (15 m) of new hose to fight fire

Canadian Pulp and Paper Industry 25(1): 65-66

Describes a new type of Canadian fire hose, the Mark 1000, which is self-protecting, light, strong and easily rolled. It is made of synthetic fibres and is partially lined; the partial lining permits enough water to seep through to prevent the hose from burning if stretched across recently burned ground or hit by flying sparks and embers, while the synthetic fibres make it mildew-resistant and easy to store.
