Swiss Patent: (532 901)

Casein-based synthetic milk is produced by dissolving 3-8% by wt. casein, which has been obtained by precipitation in an acid medium, in an aqueous basic solution containing ions of at least one alkali metal, e.g. sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide, at least one of the carbohydrates, sugars and starches, and milk serum acting as solvent.
