Methods of planting rice (Oryza sativa L.) in puddled soil

In a trial in 1968-9, rice was transplanted as 25-day-old seedlings from a wet nursery at 2 seedlings/hill, as 14-day-old seedlings from a 'dapog' nursery at 4-5 seedlings/hill, was broadcast on mud at a sowing rate of 80 kg seed/ha or as sprouted seeds in standing water at a rate of 110 kg/ha, or dibbled as sprouted seeds at a sowing rate of 40 kg/ha.
