Metribuzin and metribuzin combinations for weed control in tomatoes

Metribuzin and metribuzin combinations for weed control in tomatoes

Proceedings of the North Central Weed Control Conference (Volume 28): 67

Trials were conducted in northern Indiana on a sandy loam soil (o.m. 1.5%). The best treatment for direct-sown tomatoes was diphenamid alone at 4 lb/acre or + metribuzin at 0.125 lb or 0.25 lb/acre pre-em. followed by metribuzin at 0.25 lb-0.75 lb/acre applied when tomatoes were 6 inches high. At the highest rate, metribuzin caused slight leaf-burn of plants 6 inches high (and completely killed plants 2 inches high).
