Neonatal calf diarrhea: propagation, attenuation, and characteristics of a coronavirus-like agent



American Journal of Veterinary Research 34(2): 145-150



A coronavirus-like agent isolated in fetal bovine kidney (FBK) cell culture from faeces of a calf with diarrhoea was adapted to secondary FBK cells. The virus was attenuated by serial passage in consecutively higher passages of FBK cells originating from the fetus used for adaptation.
