Nitrogen fertilization of the potato cultivar Flisak. 2. Effect of increased rates of nitrogen on amino acid composition of tubers

Nitrogen fertilization of the potato cultivar Flisak. 2. Effect of increased rates of nitrogen on amino acid composition of tubers

Zeszyty Naukowe Akademii Rolniczo Technicznej w Olsztynie, Rolnictwo (7): 167-177

Data are given on contents of 14 amino acids. Increasing rates of fertilizer N decreased tuber contents of histidine, arginine, lysine and alanine by up to 40, 20, 30 and 34%, respectively. Levels of leucine, threonine, serine and glycine were highest at 60 and 120 kg N/ha and decreased by up to 24, 48, 38 and 28%, respectively, at high N.
