Stikstof 7(76): 110-115

In 1972, wheat diseases were widespread and increased with increasing crop weight. High rates of N led to yield reductions due to accumulation of N in the soil following the mild dry winter. Application of benomyl or CCC compensated for the damaging effect of high N rates on grain yield to the extent of 400-700 kg/ha. In the peat reclamation areas however CCC caused a yield reduction. In 1973, disease prevalence, and the damaging effect of surplus N on yields was less.
