The insecticidal exotoxin produced by Bacillus thuringiensis var. thuringiensis was found to contain two components (termed F-I and F-II), each of which had one adenine, one phosphorus and one ribose component in the molecule. The molecular weight of F-I was calculated electrophotometrically as 860.
