, : Orientation of greenhouses in the Mediterranean zone. Acta Horticulturae (42): 43-54

The influence of N.-S. and E.-W. greenhouse orientations on the growth of tomato and capsicum was studied in a large scale trial in an area receiving intense solar energy even early in the season. N.-S. orientation contributed to the homogeneity of microclimatic conditions in the greenhouse. E.-W. orientation, on the other hand, was not favourable for early growth. Yields and income were greater from plants grown in N.-S.-orientated houses.
