Origin and development of integration processes in agriculture

During the last few decades changes in the labour force have affected and induced a need for corresponding adjustments in food production. New social processes of integration have led to the formation of agro-industrial or agro-food complexes. The idea of combination of agriculture and industry was formulated by Marx and worked out in the agro-industrial combination formed in the Soviet Union in the 1920s.
