Origin and development of the axillary bud of the 6th leaf in Pisum sativum L. Morphological and morphogenetic aspects of the removal of inhibition by removal of the main axis

Origin and development of the axillary bud of the 6th leaf in Pisum sativum L. Morphological and morphogenetic aspects of the removal of inhibition by removal of the main axis

Comptes Rendus Hebdomadaires des Seances de l' Academie des Sciences, France, D 278(22): 2751-2754

The structure of axillary buds and the growth of the axillary bud of the 6th leaf following removal of the apical bud on the 18th day of growth were investigated. During the 1st 18 days of growth the inhibition was marked by an increase in the length of the plastochrone.
