Peroxidase isozymes in some virus-infected orchids

, : Peroxidase isozymes in some virus-infected orchids. Acta Horticulturae (36): 273-277

Peroxidase isozymes in leaves of healthy and virus-infected orchid plants were examined by disc electrophoresis in acrylamide gels and by benzidine staining. Relative intensities of the principal isoperoxidases in zymograms were different for healthy and virus-infected plants. Quantitative but not qualitative changes in the peroxidase isozymes were induced by either cymbidium mosaic virus (Cym MV) or odontoglossum ringspot virus (ORSV), but no new peroxidase isozyme bands were detected.
