Problems of corrosion in the diary industry. III. Pitting corrosion of stainless steel by whey

Problems of corrosion in the diary industry. III. Pitting corrosion of stainless steel by whey

Lait 52(519/520): 688-699

Electrochemical analysis of stainless steel containing 18% Cr and 10% Ni is conducted for evidence of a tendency to develop pitting corrosion in contact with various wheys such as those from casein manufacture, cheese whey and acid de-proteinized wheys. Wheys were used in both original and concentrated forms and at temp. representative of those employed in the dairy industry.
