Production of sugar-beet breeding material with increased combined resistance to Peronospora and storage rots

Studies at Mezotnes and Belaya Tserkov' show that increased combined resistance to storage rots and Peronospora can be produced by breeding successively for resistance to the different diseases, and also by hybridization of breeding material and varieties differing in resistance to the individual diseases.
