Prospects of the method of ultrasonic disintegration for obtaining antigens from Candida spp. and their study in serological reactions

Two strs. of C. albicans and 1 of C. tropicalis, isolated from patients with generalized candidiasis, were subjected to oscillations at 800 k Hz from a UZ-1 apparatus. The disintegrating effect of the vibrations depending on the duration of exposure, cell conc. in suspension, intensity of vibrations/cm2 and the vol. of the suspension were studied. The antigen obtained revealed haematoglobin and precipitin in immune sera of rabbits in fairly high titres.
