Rapeseed oilmeals. 23. Microbiological studies of potato silage with added rapeseed oilmeal

Rapeseed oilmeals. 23. Microbiological studies of potato silage with added rapeseed oilmeal

Nahrung 16(8): 849-858

23. The effect of an admixture of 7, 20 and 30% rapeseed meal on the development of microorganisms in potato silages was studied. Lactic acid bacteria were very resistant to toxic constituents of rapeseed meal and their slight retardation of development did not affect fermentation. The development of proteolytic bacteria and yeasts in steamed potatoes was inhibited by rapeseed meal.
