Reactions of corn (Zea mays) seedlings with non-sterile, Texas male-sterile, and restored Texas male-sterile cytoplasms to Helminthosporium maydis toxin

The reactions of normal (N), Texas male-sterile (T) and restored Texas male-sterile (TRF) versions of 53 inbred lines to injection with toxin from H. maydis (Cochliobolus heterostrophus) are tabulated. In all but one inbred line, the N version was much more resistant to the toxin than the corresponding T and TRF versions. T plants of the lines A97, AyX65, Pa83 and SD105 showed greater resistance than T plants of other lines.
