Relationship between morphological characteristics and the reproductive development of smooth-stalked meadow grass, Poa pratensis L

In a study of 271 examples of P. pratensis from various sources and from breeding varieties it was shown that leaf width, leaf area, hairiness at the base of the leaf, sward density and growth type were positively correlated with the beginning and end of panicle emergence and with the onset of flowering, whereas hairiness of the leaf blade and capacity for aftermath growth were negatively correlated with the onset of flowering.
