Relationship between the nutrition and the appearance of greenback and blossom-end rot in tomato fruits

Acta Horticulturae (29): 319-326
Relationship between the nutrition and the appearance of greenback and blossom-end rot in tomato fruits
In solution culture with 3 K levels, increasing K markedly reduced the occurrence of greenback and this was related to fruit K content which rose from 1.88% at the lowest to 3.09 % at the highest K rate. A reverse trend was observed regarding blossom-end rot which affected 9 % of the fruit at the highest and only 5 % at the lowest K level. In sol. culture increasing K levels markedly reduced greenback. This was related to fruit K levels, which rose from 1.88 to 3.09%.
