DOI: 10.4141/cjps72-154

In field trials in 1968-71, wheat Manitou, Selkirk and Chinook, barley Galt, Betzes and Conquest and oats Kelsey, Harmon and Sioux were either grown after a summer fallow or after wheat Manitou. There were significant interactions between species and the preceding land use. After fallow, barley and oats yielded an average of 4.25 and 3.89 t grain/ha, respectively, whereas after wheat they yielded 2.85 and 3 t grain, respectively.
