Resistance to Taenia pisiformis larvae in rabbits. I. Examination of the antigenically protective phase of larval development. II. Temporal relationships and the development phase affected

Initial infection of rabbits with T. pisiformis eggs results in a strong resistance to reinfection. To examine the antigenically protective phase of larval development, rabbits were inoculated s/c with live larvae from in vitro culture, or from experimental in vivo infections, at progressive stages of development. Larvae up to 15 days of in vitro development were able to confer absolute resistance to challenge infection.
