Response of potato varieties to attack by the root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita (Kofoid and White) Chitwood, in the central coast region of Peru

Inti Sipa, the result of complex hybridization between Solanum tuberosum ssp. tuberosum, S. demissum and S. tuberosum ssp. andigenum, had the best response to the pathogen of twelve varieties tested and the best commercial performance. Chata Blanca de Huasahuasi (Huasahuasi Flat White) and Chata Negra (S. tuberosum ssp. andigenum) may be useful as sources of natural resistance.
