In trials in 1970 with sesame given 20 kg N + 20 kg P2O5/ha, foliar application of succinic acid at 300-900 ppm on 3 dates resulted in average seed yields of 216-254.5 kg/ha, compared with 139.6 kg/ha on plots given no succinic acid. Application of succinic acid at 20, 30 and 40 days after sowing gave yields of 212.4, 217 and 203.4 kg/ha, respectively.
