In field trials in 1966-9, the highest yields from soyabean cultivars representing 3 maturity groups were obtained from those sown between 20 May and 1 June. Yields of > 20 bu/ac were obtained even from plots sown on 15-20 July. It was recommended that for maximum yields, full-season cultivars such as Hill and Lee should be sown in late May or early June.
