Abstract
Trials conducted from 1962 to 1972 involved 24 varieties with white seeds and eleven with coloured seeds in the dry-bean group and twelve yellow-podded and 13 green-podded varieties in the green-harvested group. Resistance or low susceptibility to common bean mosaic, yellow bean mosaic, Xanthomonas phaseoli, Pseudomonas phaseolicola and Colletotrichum lindemuthianum was observed in the white beans Saginow, Seaway and Taplani Feher salatabab [Taplan White Salad bean], the coloured dry-bean variety Taplani bokor furj [Taplan Bush Quail] the green-podded beans Cordon, Trisztan and Fullgreen and the yellow-podded variety Resistent Kinghorn.
