Salmonella dublin abortion in cattle: incidence and epidemiology

Salmonella dublin abortion in cattle: incidence and epidemiology

British Veterinary Journal 131(1): 94-101

Most cases of abortion associated with Salmonella dublin infection in southwest Wales in the period May 1970-April 1972 occurred between the months of June and January. There was a difference in the rate of abortion and enteric infection associated with the organism. The proportion of faecal isolations rose rapidly in May, to a peak in August, and then fell to low levels by December. In abortion, the proportion of isolates rose gradually through the summer to a peak in October.
