Abstract
Strains of R. trifolii and R. leguminosarum could be divided respectively into 19 and 17 serological groups on the basis of somatic antigen composition. There was a serological relationship between strains of R. trifolii and R. leguminosarum. The strains of both species carried similar or identical antigens. Some serological groups of both species contained more active strains and other groups contained less active strains.
