Studies on Ranikhet disease: adaptation and propagation of Ranikhet disease virus in cell-cultures of chicken-embryo fibroblast

Studies on Ranikhet disease: adaptation and propagation of Ranikhet disease virus in cell-cultures of chicken-embryo fibroblast

Indian Journal of Animal Sciences 42(1): 41-44

The R2B (or Mukteswar) strain of Newcastle disease virus was adapted to cell-cultures of chicken-embryo fibroblasts. The virus produced after one passage a cytopathic effect (CPE) which was complete 72 hours after infection. Haemagglutination titres of 320 and above were observed after the third passage.
