Studies on Thrips tabaci Lindman. IX. Resistance of nineteen varieties of cotton to Thrips tabaci L. and Aphis gossypii G

Nineteen varieties of cotton (seven American, two Russian and ten Egyptian) were tested in Egypt for resistance to Thrips tabaci Lind. and Aphis gossypii Glov. The varieties Pima S-1, 126-1, Giza 31, Giza 45 and Alexandria 3 showed considerable resistance to both species. Some varieties, such as F-108 and 63-17-1, were tolerant and gave a high yield in spite of being heavily infested.
