Studies on the breakdown of male sterility and other related aspects in certain cytoplasmic male-sterile lines of pearl millet (Pennisetum typhoides Stapf and Hubb)

Low relative humidity with high day and night temperatures increased the number of pollen-shedding plants in male-sterile Tift 23A but not in Tift 23DA or 628A. The morphology of male-sterile and pollen-shedding plants was compared. Pollen sterility in the pollen shedders was high in all seasons in comparison with their respective B lines.
