Part 1 is reported in WA 19, 1189. In the deep dormancy stage, 8-oxyquinoline, potassium cyanide, sodium diethyldithiocarbamate (DIECA), mercuric chloride, sodium sulphide and salicylaldoxime had a considerable stimulatory effect on breaking dormancy of Echinochloa crus-galli var. oryzicola; salicylaldoxime, DIECA and mercuric chloride did not inhibit oxygen uptake by >30%. in the shallow dormancy stage, the dormancy-breaking effect of potassium cyanide and mercuric chloride greatly increased.
