3. Spectrophotometric estimation of hydrogenated vitamin A in a mixture of vitamin A and alpha -tocopherol was applied to fish liver oils and to long-stored partly oxidised retinyl palmitate to which known amounts of alpha -tocopherol were added. Recovery of vitamin A was almost complete and the absorbance curve against a hydrogenated blank resembled that of vitamin A used in preparing vitamin A alpha -tocopherol mixtures.
