Symptoms of star crack virus on the fruit and shoot growth of apple cultivars

, : Symptoms of star crack virus on the fruit and shoot growth of apple cultivars. Acta Horticulturae (44): 245-250

The sensitivity of 72 heat-treated dessert, culinary and cider cvs to SCV was examined. The symptoms were seen one year after inoculation, usually as bark lesions and shoot die-back. Flower and fruit symptoms were common 2 years after inoculation.

The objectives of this study were to examine, and quantify with the aid of stereological techniques,1,2 the effects of exposure to hydrocarbons on the reproductive and nutrient storage cell systems in the marine mussel, Mytilus edulis. Previous studies have shown that treatment of tumor cells in vitro with 1-10 muM AFP produces significant s...

The nature and dissemination of R-plasmids which confer trimethoprim/sulfonamide resistance on Enterobacteriaceae are reviewed, and a table shows the R(Tp)-plasmids reported in various countries since 1972. The possible role of candidate receptors in the cellular penetration of HCV from serum of infected patients remains unclear. SR-BI/Cla1 interacts with plasma HDL, native and modified LDL, and VLDL, and facilitates cellular cholesterol efflux to li...

Nitric oxide synthases (NOSs) require tetrahydrobiopterin (BH-4) for dimerization and NO production. Mutation analysis of mouse inducible NOS (iNOS; NOS2) identified Gly-450 and Ala-453 as critical for NO production, dimer formation, and BH-4 bind...

During the past 15 years, evidence has accumulated for the nutritional essentiality of n-3 fatty acids, including alpha-linolenic acid (18:3n-3) and its longer-chain derivatives. In the past, n-3 fatty acids were included as essential fatty acids...
