Temperature controlled floral induction in Amazon lily, Eucharis grandiflora, Planch

Temperature controlled floral induction in Amazon lily, Eucharis grandiflora, Planch

Journal of the American Society for Horticultural Science 98(1): 29-30

The minimum time and temperature requirements for flower induction in potted bulbs were found to be 12 days at 29.4 deg or 3 weeks at 19.4 deg C. However, a greater number of bulbs flowered when heated for 16 days at 29.4 deg or 3 weeks at 20.6 deg. Flowering, based on the percentage of bulbs flowering and numbers of flowers/scape, was satisfactory when bulbs were heated for 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 or 9 weeks at 29.4 deg.
