Groups of 30 Large White turkeys females were reared from 8 to 32 weeks on one of 3 diets: A was based on the nutrient recommendations of the US National Research Council; B contained 18% protein and ME 3.0 kcal/g; C had 18% protein and 2.0 kcal/g and the birds on diet C were restricted to the amount eaten by those given B. With increasing day length the birds came into egg production between 24 and 27 weeks of age. Egg production was poor and had nearly ceased by 38 weeks.
