The effect of some varieties of both sweet and sour cherries on the fertilization of the sour cherry Spanska

The effect of some varieties of both sweet and sour cherries on the fertilization of the sour cherry Spanska

Godisen Zbornik na Zemjodolsko sumarskiot Fakultet na Univerzitetot Skopje, Ovostarstvo1973; 25: 39-44

Five sweet and six sour-cherry varieties were compared as pollinators for the allogamous sour cherry Spanischer Glaskirsche between 1967 and 1972. Fertilization success (fruits harvested as a percentage of flowers pollinated) varied greatly from year to year but at best the sweet cherries Ohridska crna and Germersdorf were the most effective. In a poor year, Hedelfinger Riesen surpassed Germersdorf.
