Abstract
The best leaf yields per hectare in the Prilep area were obtained from Virginia Golden Cure after planting in mid-May but when planting was delayed until late May, Stolac 17 yielded best, while June planting favoured BB1636-61. Varietal differences in leaf yield both per plant and per hectare in response to planting density were apparent, but were too small to alter this broad pattern.
