Tests were carried out to ascertain whether timber, killed by Tordon 10K (picloram-potassium 10% granular) in the reclamation of forested land for agriculture, was suitable for use in the pulp and paper industry. Picloram at 10 kg/ha, applied in spring or summer, was less effective than Dybar especially against alder maple and hazel Birch, aspen and alder were killed with picloram and dead trees given standard tests for timber and pulp qualities.
