The income situation of peasant farms in various production regions

The income situation of peasant farms in various production regions

Forderungsdienst 22(2): 40-43

The farm results for peasant farms keeping accounts have been published for 1972. Examining the objective measuring rod of farm results, the net profit, it is shown that a comparatively high proportion of the book-keeping farms farm at a loss. Of the 2,026 farms, 48.2 per cent. farm without net profit, and many more at a loss. This percentage rises to more than 70 per cent. in the Waldviertel, in western North Tirol and in the plains and hills of south-east Burgenland.
