The influence of soil zinc on nodulation, mycorrhizae, and ozone-sensitivity of Pinto bean

Zn soil amendments of 45 and 135 mu g/g (1.55 and 4.18 mu g available Zn/g soil) significantly decreased vesicular arbuscular mycorrhiza on Phaseolus vulgaris Pinto III compared with levels found in the control plants in non-amended soil, 15 days after sowing. The number of nodules/g root also decreased, though the numbers varied erratically and significance was not reached.
