The keeping quality of roses. V. The influence of the stage of maturity at the time of harvest and of some commercial flower preservative solutions on the longevity and opening of the flower

Tidsskrift for Planteavl 78(5): 677-681

Flowers of the cvs Baccara, Red Garnette and Zorina were cut at 3 different stages of maturity, viz. when 2 sepals, 2 petals or 6 petals were open, and held in solutions of Krislite or Substral Buket Frisk. Only Baccara showed a vase life response to the stage at which flowers were cut, lasting for an extra day if harvested when 2 petals were open.
